Classes are held every Tuesday evening from 6.30 to 9pm in the Community Art Room, in the Crypt of St John’s on Bethnal Green, 200 Cambridge Heath Road, Bethnal Green, E2
Students who are new to the craft start with a small project to familiarise themselves with the techniques, tools and materials. Students who have already done mosaic can work on their own projects in the classes and receive tuition and guidance as necessary.
There is a limited range of materials in the studio but students may want to use their own for particular projects. As well as using mosaic tiles students are encouraged to use recycled materials such as crockery and old ceramics.

The workshops teach you how to cut stained glass using a variety of cutting tools to create beautiful, bright garden mosaics. Full work and suppliers sheets are provided as well as details of the tools & equipment you need & how to source your materials.
Sue will teach you how the materials used will make your work waterproof and suitable for year long garden display. This is an unusual style of mosaic so your work will not only be unique but hopefully the envy of all your friends. The aim of the course is to teach you the technique bringing with it the confidence and knowledge to start a project on your own. The residential classes based at Katy’s B&B are a fun way to learn the basics of mosaics; to develop new techniques and to extend existing knowledge. We are avid recyclers, many of the materials are salvaged glass and china. The courses have recently been described as a ‘spa break’ for creative people.
