The Art of Mosaic by David Feuerstein at The Prince's School of Traditional Arts, London.

The course will run between from 7th to 28th May at The Prince's School of Traditional Arts in East London. The course will look at a range of mosaic styles, mosaic making techniques, mosaic media and terminology supported by handouts, demonstrations and fun discussions. In this course students will be introduced to the art of mosaic through examples illustrating early Islamic, Roman and Byzantine mosaic.

All students will progress to a finished piece in ceramic, glass, marble or a combination of materials. All necessary tools and materials are provided in order to experience a popular and versatile mosaic making method.

Mosaic Classes with Alex McHallam

Students who are new to the craft start with a small project to familiarise themselves with the techniques, tools and materials.   Students who have already done mosaic can work on their own projects in the classes and receive tuition and guidance as necessary.

There is a limited range of materials in the studio but students may want to use their own for particular projects.  As well as using mosaic tiles students are encouraged to use recycled materials such as crockery and old ceramics.

Adult Mosaic Workshops in Bedfordshire

Taught by professional BAMM member, Dionne Ible, this is a therapeutic and addictive workshop, which will leave you wanting to do more.

The workshop is a taster session for those who have never done any mosaic work before or with very little experience.

Students will be given a small mosaic project such as a wall plaque, mirror or flowerpot and will be shown the Direct Method of applying tiles to their design.

The workshop will take place at the artist’s home in Bedfordshire where light refreshments will be provided. It may be advisable to bring a packed lunch, if you decide you want to take a break that is! Alternatively the nearest café is approximately 10mins walk away.

Workshops are for a duration of 7 hours (10am – 5pm) at a cost of £45 which includes all materials.

The main focus throughout the course will be exploring the creative
process a little deeper, making mosaics.  The emphasis being on
relaxation, having fun and reconnecting with your innate artistic energy.
