The new London School of Mosaic is an exciting and important development in the world of British mosaic. It is the first art school in the UK specialising in Mosaic Studies. It offers a 1 year Mosaic Diploma and a 3 year Mosaic Studies degree as well as short weekend and evening courses. It also works within the community and seeks to use mosaic to enhance public spaces.

Mosaic Class at The Somerville, Peckham S.E London
A fabulous mosaic course run by mosaic artist Joni McDougall spanning two terms at The Somerville. Joni is an acclaimed artist and professional member of the British Association for Modern Mosaic.
In term one come and be involved in our community mosaic project working with an established mosaic artist and teacher and a group that is friendly and dynamic. This is a free eleven week course starts on Wednesday 9 January 2019 from 11.30 to 3.30.
In term two commencing Wednesday 24 April develop your own design ideas to make a beautiful mosaic for your home or garden. The course is suitable for beginners and experienced artists. The cost to students is £40; this covers full tuition for a twelve week term (11.30 to 3.30), use of tools and materials, you will make an individual piece measuring 30cm x 30 cm to take home.

South London Mosaic is a studio run by highly experienced Italian mosaic artist Giulia Manzoni where you can learn the ancient art of Mosaic through standard and short weekend courses. Giulia is a graduate of the Splimbergo Mosaic School in Italy and has been teaching mosaic in the UK at Southbank Mosaics and more recently at the London School of Mosaic.
The courses are run during the week and at weekends and are suitable for beginners or the more experienced mosaicists.

Students who are new to the craft start with a small project to familiarise themselves with the techniques, tools and materials. Students who have already done mosaic can work on their own projects in the classes and receive tuition and guidance as necessary.
There is a limited range of materials in the studio but students may want to use their own for particular projects. As well as using mosaic tiles students are encouraged to use recycled materials such as crockery and old ceramics.

This is an unusual style of mosaic so your work will not only be unique but hopefully the envy of all your friends.
